Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) Monday, September 8, 2008 11:07 AM So, it's like the title: I dont have a pally tank weapon, 'cuz i have the King's Defender and the Shard of the Virtuous (every one told me that King's Defender is a Warrior Tank weapon, and the Shard of the Virtuous is a Healer weapon). So, i don't know wich one use until i get a real tankadin weapon. Any suggests? Thanks |

RE: Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) (1) Wednesday, September 10, 2008 11:40 AM I used the Kings Defender for the longest time until I reached 490 def without using the sword. 490 def means you can't be crit. In theory, you want plus spell dmg for better aggro so once you hit 490, i'd use the shard of the virtuous. However, you can just grind Keepers of Time rep and get the continume (spelling?) blade @ revered - thats an awesome pally tank weapon until you can get a real one from za, hmgt or hyjal! |

I started to have to use the caster sword weapon from Shadow Labs that comes off murmur for tanking gruul and King Mulgar to generator more agro just recently! The weapon I am targeting is the mace that comes off the eagle boss in ZA!!!! That is a great pally tank weapon! |

I still have my Kings Defender and my Shard Of The Virtuous... actually, the Kings Defender now seems to be more usefull to pally then before, but, at least for now, i still prefer the Cudgel! |

RE: Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) (8) Wednesday, October 29, 2008 04:47 AM there's a neck piece at cenarian refuge that has def rating on it. hi-jacking loot as a healer is not popular, but the best arguement to you party's or guildies is, "wat are u looking for every time u want to form raid/party? A healer or tank" :) this way u can be as fexible as needed. |

RE: Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) (10) Tuesday, November 4, 2008 10:27 AM btw kings defender would be > spell dmg weapons, now pallys need max dps weapons, those fast swords that warriors use, the higher the DPS on the weapon the better it is now for pallys. Spell dmg isn't so great now that all abilities are split between spell dmg and ap for their bonus dmg. |

RE: Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) (12) Wednesday, November 5, 2008 08:05 AM you can use either type, but the best would be a high dps weapon with spell power, but those don't exist cept in dagger form, and i don't see taking that away from a true caster. So after the coefficient changes, and now that threat is more based on damage instead of cryptic threat mechanics, the spell dmg weapons aren't as great anymore, the higher dps weapons keep your dmg output high, especially with hammer of the righteous, which is 4x weapon dps to 3 targets. |

I also added a link to this under WEAPONS. single target - warrior weapon can pull ahead due to hammer of righteous but the overall +dmg from spell dmg weapon can make it better for aoe |

Yes, it gets more powerfull with the Kings Defender, but this is only one spell. How about the others? They still need Spell Power. Consecration, Holy Shield, judgments, etc, will get more powerfull with the Cudgel! Do u really think is best have one stronguest attack instead 3 or 4 stronguests? |

RE: Weapons (Kings Defender X Shard Of The Virtuous) (15) Saturday, November 8, 2008 01:22 PM Without having any mods that can tell me the TPS or Overall dmg from one weapon to the other, I would say that if your AOEing mutliple mobs - use the spell damage weapons. However, if your tanking a boss - switch to a warrior weapon for the increased stats and overall damage from Hammer of Righteous.
